Special Needs

The Vector Arena provides extensive facilities for patrons with special needs. 

→ PARKING

There is mobility parking at Vector Arena which will need to be booked upon purchase of a ticket due to limited availability. Alternatively there is a drop-off and collection only zone at the front of the Arena on Mahuhu Cres for those displaying a valid Mobility Parking Permit. There is also some parking available for large buses with a minimum of 39 seats, at a small fee, please call us on (09) 358 1250 prior to an event to book a space.

→ ACCESSIBILITY

The main entrance to the Vector Arena is located between Beach Rd and Quay St on Mahuhu Cres. The multiple entry points at the front are fully accessible and there is lift access from the Grand Atrium to the second level of the Arena. Additionally, Gate B permits preferential access for wheelchair users and patrons with special needs - this is located alongside the box office and is nearest to the lifts. 


→ SEATING

Wheelchairs are easily accommodated in the bowl and seating arrangements can be prebooked for mobility impaired patrons and a companion . To enable our staff to give maximum assistance patrons should request wheelchair spaces at the time of booking.


→ OTHER FACILITIES

Fully accessible toilets are located throughout the arena on both floors and patrons are directed to those by clear signage. The Hearing Assistance system is a Telex ‘Sound-Mate’ and comprises of a FM radio transmitter base station and ten portable radio receivers tuned to the FM transmit frequency. Audio from the receivers heard from lightweight headset worn by the users. The receivers are uplifted from reception counter by users on demand. A Hearing Assistance system is installed for those with hearing impairments (these can be collected from Information (free of charge) and both tactile cues and Braille signage are there to assist patrons with vision impairments.
